More Than 762,000 Pounds Of Hot Pockets Recalled Over Glass & Plastic Contamination
More than 762,000 pounds of pepperoni Hot Pockets have been recalled this month from no more less than four consumer complaints of glass and hard plastic contamination; which left one person with a “minor oral injury.”
On Friday (Jan. 15), Nestlé Prepared Foods released a statement about recalling thousands upon thousands of pounds of Hot Pockets after determining they could’ve been contaminated with “extraneous materials, specifically pieces of glass and hard plastic.”
The statement read, “Nestlé Prepared Foods is recalling approximately 762,615 pounds of not-ready-to-eat (NRTE) pepperoni hot pockets product. The frozen NRTE pepperoni hot pockets product was produced from Nov. 13, 2020 through Nov. 16, 2020.” The company says for customers to look out for the 54-oz carton packages containing 12 PREMIUM PEPPERONI sandwiches with a “BEST BEFORE FEB 2022” date and lot codes 0318544624, 0319544614, 0320544614, and 0321544614.
The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service suggests that if you have purchased the since-recalled product, you should throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.
