Ahold Delhaize, the parent company of Food Lion, is investing $860 million to establish a new regional distribution center in Guilford County, North Carolina. This facility will create 505 new jobs over the next eight years, with about 120 positions expected to start as early as 2029. The center will serve Ahold Delhaize’s grocery brands on the East Coast. The project, located on a 285-acre site in Burlington, also benefits from state and local incentives. North Carolina’s Economic Investment Committee approved a grant for the development, underscoring the state’s role in supporting growth and jobs in the region.
