Giannis teams up with Second Harvest, Right Moves for Youth gets $350,000 after Team LeBron wins All-Star gameThere’s no doubt the Spectrum Center was packed with the NBA’s best talent.

This includes Giannis Antetokounmpo who’s also known as the “Greek Freak”. He has a following no matter where he goes, but he’s considered an idol to the Greek community right here in Charlotte.

Team Giannis which contained players like Kemba Walker and Steph Curry played to fight hunger.

Giannis selected Second Harvest Food Bank as one of the charities that the NBA will donate money to. Giannis has said that charities like Second Harvest are important to him because he grew up needing those types of resources so that he and his family would be able to have food on the table at night.

Some good folks at the Mad Greek Café on South Blvd. say Giannis is a noble person and represents their culture well. They say the man has a heart of gold and really couldn’t be happier that he came to the Queen City and made a difference while he’s here.

“Definitely the Charlotte Greeks are very proud and very excited to see him play here,” said Amelia Limeerakis who works at the cafe.

Team LeBron pulled out the win and won $350,000 for Right Moves for Youth – an organization that’s centered around bettering the high school graduation rate for students in Charlotte. While Team Giannis was able to send $150,000 to Second Harvest.
