Around the Crown 10K

The Around the Crown 10K takes place on Sunday, starting at 7:30 a.m. from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. Runners will experience a unique 10K course that includes a scenic loop around I-277 with stunning skyline views, followed by tree-lined streets and a finish festival on the field to celebrate the day.

Monday, Sept. 1

Charlotte Labor Day Parade

Celebrate American labor and community spirit at the Charlotte Labor Day Parade, stepping off at 11:00 a.m. in Uptown Charlotte. The route begins at Tryon and 9th Streets, moves through the Square, and ends near 3rd Street—featuring floats, union contingents, bands, car clubs, civic groups, and more in a classic “union-made” celebration.

Matthews Alive Festival

The Matthews Alive Festival returns Labor Day weekend with four days of live music, carnival rides, food, and one of the Southeast’s largest parades. Enjoy more than 150 artisans, indoor exhibits, and performances. Admission is free; rides and games require tickets.

River Jam @ U.S. National Whitewater Center

River Jam continues this weekend with live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. Beyond the music, enjoy outdoor activities like rafting, climbing, and biking. Food and beverage options are available on-site.
