CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte residents will have an opportunity to influence the city’s future development when they head to the polls Tuesday, November 3, to vote on a proposed $425 million bond package.

The package includes three separate proposals intended to address transportation infrastructure, affordable housing, and neighborhood improvements across the Queen City.

The largest portion, totaling $280 million, would support transportation projects designed to improve roads, sidewalks, intersections, and pedestrian accessibility.

Another $125 million would go toward housing initiatives, potentially helping the city expand affordable housing opportunities as Charlotte continues experiencing population growth and rising housing costs.

The remaining $20 million would support neighborhood improvement projects, including investments in community infrastructure and public spaces.

Supporters believe the proposed investments could help Charlotte manage its continued expansion while addressing infrastructure and housing challenges.

However, residents will ultimately decide whether the city should move forward with the proposed borrowing.

The bond measures will appear on the November 3 ballot alongside federal, state, and local races.

Voters are encouraged to review each proposal before casting their ballots.
