Drake’s OVO Brand Reportedly Exploring Major Deal with Authentic Brands Group

Drake’s lifestyle and apparel brand, October’s Very Own (OVO), is reportedly in discussions to sell a 50% stake to brand management giant Authentic Brands Group, a move that could significantly expand the company’s global reach. According to multiple reports, negotiations are underway for Authentic Brands Group to acquire a substantial interest in OVO, though neither Drake nor OVO has publicly confirmed the deal.

Founded by Drake alongside longtime collaborators Oliver El-Khatib and Noah “40” Shebib, OVO has grown from a music collective into a global fashion and lifestyle brand with flagship stores in major cities including Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, London, and Las Vegas. The brand has become known for its premium streetwear collections and high-profile collaborations with companies such as Nike’s Jordan Brand, Canada Goose, the NFL, NBA, and other major organizations.

Industry analysts say a partnership with Authentic Brands Group could open new licensing opportunities and accelerate OVO’s expansion into additional product categories and international markets. Authentic Brands Group owns or manages a portfolio that includes major fashion, sports, and entertainment brands, making it one of the most influential licensing companies in the world. If completed, the transaction would represent one of the most significant business moves in OVO’s history and further solidify Drake’s influence beyond music and entertainment.
