The Charlotte International Arts Festival (CIAF) is back for its fourth year, expanding to a full month of events showcasing global arts and culture across the city. Blumenthal Arts announced that many events will be free, with ticketed performances starting at just $5, offering something for every budget.
The festival highlights both international artists and Charlotte’s diverse cultural communities. Several fan favorites will move to the Iron District, including the International Bazaar, Charlotte Brunch Festival, and CLTure Day + Night Market, while two main weekends will focus on unique cultural experiences: September 13–14 at the Iron District and September 20–21 in Ballantyne’s Backyard with the Festival of India and Latin American Festival.
Returning highlights include the 29th Festival of India, 35th Latin American Festival, Le Dîner en Blanc, and Boom Fringe Festival, alongside new performances such as Step Afrika and FOMO, which provides free access to three Charlotte art museums.
CIAF partners with local cultural organizations, bringing satellite events across the city, including free programming at Levine Avenue of the Arts and The Green in Uptown Charlotte. Last year, the festival welcomed over 500,000 attendees to more than 200 events representing 63 countries.
The festival reflects Charlotte’s growing global presence and commitment to celebrating creativity and cultural diversity. Additional events and partnerships will be announced soon. Full details are at charlotteartsfest.com.
