A group of Walmart coworkers in Charlotte is celebrating after winning $100,000 in the Powerball. The team, calling themselves The Money Team, purchased a $3 Power Play ticket that matched four white balls and the red Powerball in the Aug. 23 drawing.
Initially thinking they’d only won $500, the full prize didn’t sink in until the group confirmed it together — doubling to $100K thanks to the Power Play multiplier. After taxes, they walked away with $71,751.
With the next Powerball jackpot at $1.7 billion, these coworkers are living proof that luck can strike anywhere, even during a shift at Walmart.
