DaBaby Brings ‘No Knife Chicken & Waffles’ to Charlotte With First Restaurant Venture

CHARLOTTE, NC — DaBaby is expanding his business portfolio beyond music, officially opening the doors to No Knife Chicken & Waffles in his hometown of Charlotte.

The Charlotte rapper celebrated the grand opening of the new restaurant on Sunday, September 6, at 700 Atando Avenue in north Charlotte. The opening marks DaBaby’s first restaurant venture in the city and brings a concept he’s previously showcased on social media into a brick-and-mortar location.

Chicken & Waffles With a Twist

As the name suggests, chicken and waffles are at the center of the menu, but customers have plenty of options when it comes to the waffle side of the combination.

The restaurant features 10 different waffle varieties, with flavors including red velvet, banana pudding, birthday cake, blueberry lemon, peach cobbler, sweet potato and the traditional plain option.

For customers looking for something lighter, No Knife also includes a health and wellness bar offering items such as açaí bowls, smoothies, yogurt parfaits, oatmeal bowls and wellness shots.

DaBaby Takes His Brand Beyond Music

The restaurant represents another entrepreneurial move for DaBaby, whose real name is Jonathan Kirk.

The Charlotte native has built an international career through music but has continued maintaining ties to his hometown. In recent months, fans have also gotten a look at his interest in food through cooking content shared online.

Plans for No Knife Chicken & Waffles first gained wider attention earlier this year, with the concept described as a fast-casual restaurant featuring an upscale diner atmosphere. DaBaby was also expected to have a significant role in developing the menu.

The opening now gives fans a chance to experience that concept in person while adding another locally connected restaurant to Charlotte’s growing food scene.

With No Knife Chicken & Waffles officially serving customers, DaBaby is putting a new spin on his relationship with the Queen City—this time trading the recording booth for the restaurant business.
