Kodak Black says he’s entering a new chapter in his career after revealing that he is officially an independent artist. During a recent livestream, the Florida rapper announced that he has fulfilled his recording contract and is now operating without a major label. According to Kodak, his newly released album, Kodak The Blessing, serves as the final project under his deal with Capitol Records, making him a free agent for the first time in years.

The announcement comes just days after the release of Kodak The Blessing, a 26-track album featuring appearances from artists including Fridayy, Rylo Rodriguez, 1900Rugrat, Lil Crix, Albee Al, G Thugg, and Reese Youngn. The project marks another addition to Kodak’s extensive catalog and continues a productive stretch that has seen him release multiple projects over the past several years. Fans have already begun speculating about what an independent Kodak Black could mean for future music releases and business ventures.

Going independent could give Kodak greater control over his music, release schedule, and business decisions while allowing him to capitalize more directly on his success. Despite ongoing legal challenges and public controversies, the rapper has maintained a loyal fan base and remains one of the most recognizable voices in Southern hip-hop. As he begins this new era, supporters will be watching closely to see how Kodak navigates life as an independent artist and what projects he delivers next.
